Xampp Index.php File
Localhost displays index.php or index.html. Typically servers are setup by default with index.php as the initial document file to. I have XAMPP installed and it. Participate in discussions with other Treehouse members and learn. XAMPP and created a new file index.php in the ht.docs folder. The folder you get the index.
I'm having issues with an additional screen as well. I'm using Windows 8.1. I get the exact same initial screen of Localhost with Index of/ at the top of the page followed by testsite.com listed as the only folder. However when I click the folder I get a second screen with Index of/testsite.com atop the page listing a Parent Directory underneath below which is a lone file called index.php.txt.
Upon clicking this php.txt? File I can access my saved index.php file. Is this a really big deal? Or can I just resume work having the extra click thru screen??? I just tested things on my laptop (an HP that uses Windows 7), and got the same result as Zac. Epson Stylus Photo 1500w Adjustment Program Download. When I type 'localhost' in the browser, my 'testsite. Free Hp Psc 1110 Driver. com' folder appears in the directory, and when I click on that folder, the browser shows the word 'Test'. But you're saying when you click on the folder you get the index.php file appearing, and then when you click on that, it takes you to 'Test' on the browser?
Canon Raw Codec 1.5.0 more. I use a Mac to do all of my Treehouse work, so I'm not too familiar with Windows, but perhaps something went wrong or was missed when you created the file and folder and/or installed XAMPP? Just a suggestion, but maybe you could redo the whole thing and double-check it follows exactly what Zac is doing/has typed. Hopefully someone else with more knowledge will chime in.
Create a folder in htdocs like 'test'. Then in test put index.php with a simple Echo 'Hello'; Then on your browser (make sure apache + mysql are running in control panel). Visit this in your browser: If your trying to connect via your IP then your router must be stopping it so you have to sort the settings out.
I don't know your router make/model you better off asking their support forums. Personally i stuck with port 80.
Hp Mediasmart Server Ex490 Installation Software Download. 80 doesn't work in windows 7 because a service is using it. How ever, its a simple fix, just go to 'Services' and disable 'World Wide Web Publishing Service'.
Then port 80 is free to use on localhost. (Don't worry your internet will work just fine disabling that service). It'll auto re-enable on next boot so you have to remember that.
