I have a psc1350 all-in-one that I have been using to print and scan with a Windows XP SP3 PC (an HP dc7600 to be exact). Using the Windows XP Scan Wizard a black and white scan takes 14 seconds from pressing scan to completion, which I find acceptable. Because the dc7600 lacks performance for today's bloated software I have migrated to a Windows 7 64 bit machine with a quad core i5 series processor and fast memory. As instructed by the HP support site I have installed the psc1350 using the Microsoft supplied driver and although printing is fine, scanning has been throttled. Using the Windows Scan Wizard a black and white scan now takes 56 seconds, which is four times that with my previous machine, and completely unacceptable in any sort of productivity environment. What's going on? Am I doing something wrong or is there a major glitch in the scanner driver?
